Les Corts district
Les Corts is one of Barcelona’s
ten districts.
Les Corts is one of Barcelona’s ten districts. Covering an area of 601.7 hectares, it’s the third smallest district of the city, after Gràcia and Ciutat Vella. The Les Corts district originates from the old town of the same name, located in the western part of the Barcelona plain, a rural area annexed by Barcelona in 1897. Les Corts’ rural nature continued up to the turn of the 20th century, during which time demographic pressures provided an added impetus to territory’s urban-planning transformation, which preserved, however, traces from other times. We invite you to discover the accounts of the Les Corts district’s past and present.
